Clearing the Sinus Passages

Allergy season is in full swing! We love to see the blooming birches, but sometimes our sinuses beg to differ. Acupuncture can help!

The external environment, including erratic temperature changes and windy springtime weather, irritates our nasal passages. A recent study found that four weeks of acupuncture is a safe and effective method for clinical management of season allergies. The trial successfully treated patient symptoms, which included, stuffiness, sneezing, itchy ears and palates, along with improving their quality of life!

I received treatment to help with my seasonal allergies in our college clinic. We used acupuncture points:

LI 20 —> Bitong : Opens nasal passages, expels wind and clears heat.

Du 23 : benefits the nose and eyes, eliminates wind, benefits the head and face and dispels swelling, calms the spirit.

or

Du 24: benefits the brain and calms the spirit, benefits the nose and eyes, eliminates wind and benefits the head.

Pro tip: Receive treatments before the change of season to prevent season sensitivities from even starting!
